Deck #1
AFTER (No deck or patio before)
I built this very sturdy deck 28 foot long and 16 foot wide with an 8 foot high lattice privacy wall angling down to a standard rail. It has five sides with the sixth side against the house. The stair entrance is 6 1/2 feet wide. The deck is in the process of being stained with Cabot Clear Solutions Heartwood stain when this picture was taken. It is built on a foundation of poured concrete pillars that are below the frost line with heavy beams and floor joist.







Deck #2
BEFORE
This two level deck was sunk into the ground with very poor foundational support with much of the deck rotting and unsafe.



AFTER
The deck was built exactly the same size as the deck I removed. Prebuilt railing was used on two sides and four panels of privacy lattice walls for partial privacy on the remaining sides. The deck is supported by about 50 deck blocks in order to keep it as close to the ground as possible. A lower section is attached to the deck at the back garage service door. At a later date, after these pictures were taken, I returned to put lattice on the side of the deck to the ground, made two 4 inch stairs on both sides of the deck and stained the deck in a solid tan color.

OFFICE REMODEL

Removed several layers of old wallpaper, repaired plaster walls and holes in wall, painted walls and ceiling, replaced ceiling lights and outlet covers, installed a wall for a new door and replaced the archway with new material, stained all poplar base, chair rail, door and window trim, doors and arch material and covered stained wood with three coats of polyurethane, installed all trim, door unit and archway, installed blinds

FULL REMODEL #2

Painted walls, ceiling and all trim in entire apartment, installed new ceiling light fixtures, new window blinds, new outlets and outlet covers in entire duplex.

KITCHEN
Removed asphalt tile and linoleum from the floor and laid ceramic tile on the concrete floor, repaired and cleaned kitchen cabinets, did needed plumbing when removing and reinstalling water heater and other appliances, installed a new built-in microwave

BATHROOM
Repaired and painted the vanity, removed old medicine cabinet and installed a new one, installed new light fixture, removed the asphalt tile and linoleum and installed new ceramic floor, installed new towel rods and shower rod, had the tub and shower walls refinished

Removed the carpet and asphalt tile and had carpet installed in the bedrooms, installed new laminate floor in the hall and the living room, repaired and rehung closet doors, installed new door hardware

Barn Shed - Put on new roof, repaired doors, replaced rotted trim, and painted shed
White Shed - Replaced rooted 2x4 foundation boards, replaced some 2x4 studs, repaired side wall, built and installed a replacement door, repaired ceiling

CARPORTS
Replaced rotted ceiling joists and plywood sub floor, removed old roof and replaced with new "Flintlastic 12 year flat roof", replaced ceiling with vented vinyl ceiling. and replace wrought iron post with white cedar post.

Removed old chimney covering and replaced with new aluminum white covering.

PORCELAIN TILE FLOOR

Removed carpet, carpet staples and tack strips from bathroom floor and separate toilet room, evaluated floor to see if "leveler" was needed before applying Hardibacker concrete board with screws to the wood floor, laid out the tile, mortared tile on floor & stairs, laid a special stone on the step wall and at the entrance into the bathroom, grouted joints and used two coats of sealer before the final cleaning.

FULL REMODEL #1

BATHROOM: New walls including drywall, 2x4's & paint, new ceramic tile floor, vanity/countertop/sink replacement, new plumbing fixtures, new mirror, new toilet, new tub/shower unit, some plumbing and electrical, light fixture replaced, exhaust fan installation, new bathroom hardware, new door, frame & baseboards, new furnace vents
